Compliance Auditor

As our compliance auditor, you are directly responsible for protecting company assets through regular auditing.  You will oversee a protection and governance strategy maintaining legislative compliance, adherence to regulatory requirements and meeting associated codes of practice.  You will ensure a safe working environment and client product consumption via assessing compliance with internal control measures and local, state, government and company regulations.  You should recommend improvements to the company’s infrastructure regarding internal control and oversee the work of coworkers.

Main Responsibilities of the Position

  • Ensure compliance to regulations
  • Own and develop the overall DP strategy and governance processes for the business
  • Provide training and regular updates to the stakeholders inrelevant Data Protection legislation including the DPA 2018 and GDPR
  • Ensure data remains up-to-date and is destroyed when necessary
  • Undertake Privacy Impact Assessments and audits, ensuring privacy weakness are identified and mitigated as appropriate
  • Liaise with the Data Protection Regulator as and when required and investigate regulatory complaints in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage any DP/Privacy related incidents ensuring appropriate internal and external escalation
  • Work closely withIn-House Legal to ensure that all Data Protection considerations have been reflected in all contracts appropriately
  • Assist Procurement colleagues with ITT processes and due diligence, to ensure that any providers meet compliance requirements
  • Provide Data Protection guidance to the business on key projects and initiatives to ensure compliance
  • Own, develop and update key business Policies (Data Protection / Records Retention / Clear Desk)
  • Ensure annual ICO registrations are completed
  • Liaise with regulators including FCA
  • Deliver a change program designed to meet proposed changes in legislation
  • Manage auditing staff including training, orientation, task assignment, task scheduling and daily procedural guidance.
  • Adhere to quality, production and customer service expectations.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues with improvements in the work process.
  • Maintain real-time understanding of the cost/benefit exchange, monitor expenses and apply cost-saving methods when necessary.
  • Develop auditing plan based on through research.
  • Analyse operational practice, periodic reports, databases, records and other forms of documentation to ensure compliance with established company and governmental regulations.
  • Verify accurate liabilities and assets through item comparison in relevant documentation.
  • Document findings of tests and audits in work papers and memos and distribute to relevant supervisors and department heads upon completion.
  • Act as support for external auditing through careful coordination of data requirements.
  • Brief management on auditing findings and reports.
  • Collaborate with management to improve internal control mechanisms as needed.
  • Seek to expand job knowledge through various company sponsored educational and professional development opportunities.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar subject matter



  • 5+ years of auditing experience
  • Thorough understanding of SFAS rules and guidelines
  • Develop aptitude for statistical analysis
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented multitasker
  • Commitment to objectivity
  • Highly proficient and effective researcher



  • Confident and a persuasive manner
  • Tight organisational and time-management skills
  • From time to time travel abroad may be required, therefore a passport and independent nature is essential
  • A self-starter with a keen eye for detail, the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload under pressure
  • Clean Driving license
